Our Services

  • Individual Counseling

Individual counseling offers a 1:1 space for you to explore resolutions to the challenges you face, empower you explore your authentic self, and tackle relationships, stigma, past trauma, and build effective strategies for the future. It provides a space, safe from the discrimination, marginalization, and unnecessary barriers that so often stop us.

Our therapists provide empathetic guidance to develop coping strategies, boost self-esteem, navigate life's complexities, foster belonging, and achieve authenticity. Clients are in control of the destination and goals of therapy throughout the process. The ultimate goal, though, is to promote autonomy and mental wellness and help individuals embrace their true selves in a world that often creates unnecessary barriers.

  • Letters of Support

Many gender-affirming procedures require a letter of support from a mental health clinician. We provide access to these letters with a single-session assessment.

Each Letter of Support Assessment is a one hour meeting with one of our therapists to discuss the specific procedure that you are having, your understanding of it, an assessment of your mental health, and planning for the procedure itself and its aftercare.

  • Couples & Family Counseling Services

One of the most important components of any relationship is effective communication. Both the family and couples counseling offer clients a nonjudgmental space to explore challenges together.

Couples counseling allows for a couple to work through challenges, build communication skills, and heal past wounds in a structured, safe environment. Couples counseling is not just for couples which are facing specific challenges, but can be effective proactively to make a strong relationship even better!

The uniques challenges that families face are often overlooked from a therapeutic perspective. Identifying conflict which exists and makes strong, fulfilling, supportive relationships difficult and working collectively to find solutions is the privilege of family therapy.

For couples and families who are working through a gender transition, this space offers the ability to gain insight, resources, and mutual understanding.

Mockingbird Counseling does not accept insurance for couples or family counseling.

  • Discount & Pro-Bono Counseling Services

At Mockingbird Counseling, we offer a limited amount of discounted and pro-bono counseling.

One of the most significant barriers to mental health care is the cost associated with it. Many of our therapists offer a sliding-scale for their fees and work with insurance companies to limit the out-of-pocket costs of therapy.

We can address the cost of therapy in many ways including bypassing insurance entirely for those with limited coverage or high deductibles and offering masters-level interns.
